Four of my images are on display at New York’s Paley Center for Media as part of the John Lennon Tribute which runs to 31st Dec. The folks from the Paley Center kindly sent me a number of shots from the exhibition. Here are two of mine – St George’s Hall and John Lennon’s home, Mendips.

This is the intro to The Beatles concert at the 1965 Shea Stadium with their performance of I’m Down. I don’t think I have ever seen the lads so carefree before or after. Paul and Ringo are trying to keep things together while George and John are having the time of their lives. Somehow, George and John keep things together, despite their kidding around and John doing his Jerry Lee Lewis impersonation on the keyboards.

If I had to pick one live video performance of The Beatles, it was this one. Yes,  there were more ground breaking songs and  the world broadcast of All You Need Is Love, but this video shows four young Scousers riding a crest of a musical wave and lovin’ it!

Another clip from the German film. This time it’s Dingle and my favourite. Grafton Street is in the vid. If you’d like to see the whole of the film, please add your comments and I’ll sort something out. Thanks.

Brewery Tap pub, Stanhope Street, Liverpool. I seem to be using black and white more than colour recently for candids.

Nice 1963 Liverpool shot of The Undertakers’ Chris Huston in Dolland’s camera shop. Chris and I are sorting out his images and documents for a website revamp and book.

German programme from 1964. It was mainly documenting the Mersey Beat groups of the time, but I enjoyed the opening scenes, showing the streets and people of Liverpool. Click image for the video.

Smoking a Gauloises outside a Parisian coffee shop on the Left Bank? Errrm, more like having a ciggie outside Costa Coffee in the Liverpool One shopping area, actually.
