A very chilly October morning! Worth getting up to take this shot of the Liverpool waterfront though

Lucky shot. I was walking past here, when I saw the sun’s rays coming through the tree. 2 minutes later, the rays were gone. Location is St Paul’s Walden, Hertfordshire, which was the childhood home of the late Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. In fact there are a few Bowes Lyon headstones in the local church cemetery.

If you ever get the chance – even if you do it only once – get over to Seacombe to watch the sunrise over Liverpool and the River Mersey. The 30 minutes before and 10 minutes after the sun rises can be magical. Check the weather forecast first though!
